Free Summer Play Sessions

Come and join in the fun at the MKPA Summer Play Sessions, we provide craft activities, a bouncy castle, games and sports.  This is completely free of charge and events will take place in the following locations and on the following dates below.

The sessions are open to all children aged 4-14yrs: parents are asked to accompany their children under 8 and join in the fun!  Please note that children may get messy or paint on their clothes (washable at 60C), and there may be water activities, weather and venue permitting.  All sessions are staffed by experienced playworkers.

Please note the sessions are open access and children remain the responsibility of their parents and at all times, as children are free to come and go as they wish.

Summer 2006

Over the course of the summer, MKPA hired an extra 21 pairs of hands to run our ever-popular Open Access Play Sessions. We ran a massive 167 sessions in total, funded by 8 Parish  Councils across the city, providing children with the opportunity to enjoy arts, crafts, sports, games and use the inflatable equipment, which this year consisted of a bouncy castle, bouncy slide and the recently acquired bouncy goal. The sessions were very well attended, running in the usual 10.00am - 12.30pm and 2.00pm - 4.30pm slots.  The weather was kind and no sessions had to be cancelled.

As well as being out and about in MK, Summer Staff also ran some well received sessions in Lavendon on three occasions.

Numbers in general were very good, and when it was all said and done, more than 8000 children had attended in total.

Many thanks to all of the Summer Staff, who worked extremely hard, the Parish Councils for supplying the funding, the Parents and Carers who attended, but most of all the thousands of children who came along and made all of the planning worthwhile.
